Fusee-box (2 5/8 x 1 1/2 x 5/8 ins) of thin chip; sliding; on one side, a strip of coarse emery-paper; slide covered with thin green paper; exterior covered with white paper, printed in red and dark green, with inscription in white, "Bell & Co.'s Royal Patent Backed Perfumed Safety Fusees. G. Bell & Co., Sole Patentees & Manufacturers, Albion Hall, London Wall, London. The ignited end of Bell & Co.'s Patent Backed Safety Fusee cannot fall off while lighting the Cigar. Parties are cautioned against the manufacturing or vending the same without authority from the Patentees"; contains two strips, each of ten wood-backed Fusees; date about 1862. England.
