[One of] Eight Fusee-boxes (3 x 1 3/4 x 1/2 ins), of thin chip; all alike; sliding; on bottom, a narrow strip of sand-paper; slide covered with mauve paper; exteriors covered with a white paper label, printed on top and sides, in pale blue, "Marshall & Co., Limited. Forty Fusees for one half-penny, for lighting Cigars, etc. Marshall & Co., Manufacturers, Jopp's Lane, Aberdeen"; each box contains forty Fusees, in two strips ( 4 1/2 x 1 ins) of twenty each, folded in two, and dipped after folding; cardboard very coarse; large heads of red igniting-composition; with these boxes in a portion of pink printed paper wrapper in which one dozen boxes were wrapped for sale; all presented in 1918 by the Earl of Breadalbane; date probably about 1865.
