[One only of] Various Match-boxes ( 3 3/4 x 2 1/4 x 1 ins) of thin iron, japanned; rectangular, with hinged lid; top and sides, bear Chinese views; in slot in bottom, a reversible piece of prepared friction-paper; inside lid, a paper label, printed in colours, "Bryant & May's Prize Medal Patent Special Safety Wax Vestas" with directions for igniting them; date about 1890.
