EMI CPS Emitron camera head, 1950. A later version of the CPS Emitron, this object dates from 1950. It has a significantly different design of casing and lens turret from the first run production models delivered to the BBC in 1948. The first post-war British television camera had been these CPS Emitrons, first used by the BBC to televise the 1948 London Olympic Games. The CPS Emitron cameras continued in service until the early 1960s.
