Slade, from crystallography by Max Perutz, manufactured by British Celanese Ltd, brand name Celanese Fabrics. Part of a collection of 83 samples designed for the 1951 Festival of Britain, based on X-ray crystallographic pattern. In 1951 the fabric sold for 25 shillings per yard. Shown in the FPG display in the Land Travelling Exhibition. Max Perutz's wife Gisela had a dress made from this fabric. The pattern 51
