MRSA is a skin infection caused by strains of bacteria resistant to an increasingly large number of antibiotics. It can be very harmful to those with a low immune system, such as some patients in hospitals. This leaflet informs people how to avoid spreading and catching MRSA, with good hygiene being the key factor.
Antiseptic washes are effective if a person only has the bacteria on their skin, but if they are infected internally, stronger measures are needed.
