Book entitled "Healthy Eating for Diabetes" by Antony Worrall Thompson and Azmina Govindji, containing guidance and recipes to aid people with diabetes in managing their diet, commissioned by Diabetes Research & Wellness Foundation, British, 2007

Chef Antony Worrall Thompson was diagnosed with borderline type 2 diabetes in 2003. He transformed his diet and lifestyle to reverse his condition.

Teaming up with nutritionist and dietitian Azmina Govindji, Worrall Thompson developed 100 recipes for this book. These use low glycemic index foods and focus on a balanced diet. The glycaemic index (GI) is a measure whether a food raises blood glucose levels quickly, moderately or slowly. Low GI foods include most fruits and vegetables, unsweetened milk, nuts, pulses, some wholegrain cereals and bread. Govindji also contributed 30 pages of advice on managing diabetes, maintaining healthy eating in the long term, cooking for a family, shopping, and eating out. Diabetes UK also recommend choosing foods high in fibre and wholegrains, as well as low in saturated fat, salt and sugar.
