Box contining two demonstration Test Medium InnoLet devices for injecting insulin and instructions for use, made by Novo Nordisk, 2000 - 2007
The Innolet insulin delivery device has a large simple to use dial that has larger print numbers and gives an audible click each time the dial is moved. It was developed for people with a visual or physical impairment to be able to set and inject insulin doses.
Encased inside the device was a pre-filled reservoir for insulin. The user would attach a needle and remove the air from the system before returning the dial to zero. The dose would then be adjusted before being administered into the body by pressing the top of the device. As each unit was delivered, the dial would return to zero. After use, the needles would be safely removed and discarded.
