Book entitled "Cancer Vixen - a true story" by Marisa Acocella Marchetto, published by Fourth Estate, UK, 2007. Cancer Vixen is a graphic novel relating the experience of the author's eleven month eventually triumphant bout with breast cancer, from diagnosis to cure.
“What happens when a shoe-crazy, lipstick-obsessed, wine-swilling, pasta-slurping, fashion-fanatic, single-forever, about-to-get-married big-city girl cartoonist with a fabulous life finds … a lump in her breast?”
This is the tag line for the graphic novel Cancer Vixen by Marisa Acocella Marchetto, an American cartoonist. The book relates the experience of her eleven-month, successful treatment for breast cancer, from diagnosis to cure. A percentage of the profits from the book are given to the Breast Cancer Research Fund and the Cancer Vixen Fund. Plans were made to turn the book into a film.
