photomicrographic attachment. Fitted to the objective of the microscope using the microscope lens for taking the picture after it ahd been correctly focused on the ground glass screen. For exposing the negative, the sliding black cover was withdrawn and after the exposure, pushed back. Mostly likely used with paper negative material. John Browning, c.1890
