Poster, 'AIDS can affect anyone' landscape version, one of 800 health education posters produced for the Central Council for Health Education (1927-69), Health Education Council (1969-87) and Health Education Authority (1987-2000).

This poster shows that AIDS can affect anyone regardless of gender, age, or nationality.

AIDS was first described in 1981. There was and still is some confusion among the public over how the disease spreads. It is a sexually transmitted infection and can also be spread through infected blood via blood transfusions or sharing needles. Today, recipients of blood in countries such as Britain are protected by rigorous procedures.
