Packet of 10 'Gold Flake' cigarettes by W D & H O Wills, England, 1920-1950

W D & H O Willis were one of a large number of cigarette and tobacco manufacturers based in England. Originally founded in Bristol in 1786, the company amalgamated with several other manufacturers to form The Imperial Tobacco Company in 1901.

This is a packet for ten 'Gold Flake' cigarettes, which were one of the brands that became popular during the First World War with British soldiers based in the trenches. More recently, this brand of cigarettes were only available in India.
