Following jobs as photographer for a local London newspaper and for the General Electric Company, Bailey became a freelance. He discovered his vocation when he assisted a photographer on a feature film. Since 1992 he has worked as a unit stills and special photographer.

This shot shows the two stars of this Jane Austen adaptation - Knightley as Elizabeth Bennet and Macfadyen as Mr Darcy - and was used for the film’s poster.
