2 green plastic keyrings used to promote the use of condoms in sexual health campaign, inscription reads "in case of emergency break glass…I am safe now", made Thailand, 1980s.
Used in a sexual health campaign in Thailand, these green plastic key rings have condoms encased within them. The keyrings use the well-known emergency phrase: ‘in case of emergency break glass’. They promoted condom use, particularly in popular tourist areas. There has been renewed interest in condoms since the 1980s. This is because they protect against both pregnancy and sexually transmitted infections (STIs) such as HIV, gonorrhea and chlamydia.
