Menopause test, made by Novogen, in Germany, c.2009, made to test whether someone has menopause. Pack contains two tests that measure the FSH hormone levels in the urine. Test available from the high street chemist Boots.

This menopause test was bought from high street chemist Boots. It was manufactured in Israel and distributed by German company Novogen. During the menopause, the body’s production of oestrogen decreases. This can cause symptoms such as hot flushes, mood swings and sleeplessness. The kit contains two tests which measure the level of follicle stimulating hormone (FSH) in the urine. FSH is produced by the pituitary gland within the brain and stimulates the growth of ovarian follicles in menstruating people, preparing the body for ovulation. Elevated levels of FSH may mean that a person is perimenopause, the transitional period before menstruation stops. The Royal College of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists does not recommend the use of self-test kits, however, as FSH levels naturally fluctuate throughout the menstrual cycle, making them an unreliable indicator.
