Camera dolly adapted from Austin car chassis

Made:
1937-50 in United Kingdom

Television camera dolly made from the chassis of an Austin 7 motor car, 1937-50.

As there was no official television service before 1936, there was not much specialist kit that the BBC could use out on location. This dolly started out life as the chassis of an Austin 7 motor car, adapted to pull the heavy Emitron camera out and about on location.
