Cap badge, as worn by a Science Museum supervising warder, unsigned, features regalia inscribed 'E R II' with 'Science Museum' around crest, maker and place of manufacturer unknown, United Kingdon, 1960-1987.

Until 1987 the Museum’s security staff, called ‘warders’, continued to wear a uniform recalling their nineteenth-century origin as policemen. The badges, such as this one, and other regalia had different designs depending on the civil service grade of the warder who wore it.
