Container for 50 'Q-Sorb CoEnzyme Q-10', tablets by Holland & Barrett, United Kingdom, 2009-2010

The label on the container claims that these supplements promotes energy and supports heart health. CoQ10 is an antioxidant naturally found in the body, with the highest levels in the heart, liver, kidney, and pancreas. Antioxidants are compounds in foods that neutralise free radicals in our body. Free radicals can damage DNA, cell membranes and other parts of cells. Free radicals are generated in the body in response to environments but also a byproduct of cell processes.

In England, supplements are regulated by the Department of Health and Social Care and of the Food Supplements (England) Regulations 2003.
