Made:
1938-39
artist:
Laurie Cleeton

London, Midland and Scottish Railway 6220 Coronation in crimson lake livery with the Coronation Scot carriages, 1939. The train passing in the background is a Jubilee class. There is a caption on the back of the frame, "The Duchess of Hamilton masquerading as Coronation for the trip to the World's Fair" ,and carried its nameplate, so this painting can be fairly precisely dated to late 1938, early 1939. Watercolour by Laurie Cleeton.
