Sony Playstation
Sony Playstation video games console, model SCPH-5552. Produced in Japan circa 1998. Originally released in 1994, the console is Sony's very first home video game console and became the first in their long running series of Playstation consoles. The console was one of the first to utilise 3D graphics and helped to mark a monumental shift away from 2D graphics in the video game industry. The console played games via CD-ROM, used detachable memory card units for storing saved data and could have two external controllers attached, which allowed players to interact with the console and play games.
