3 Small steel set-squares, with brass stocks, on one stock is engraved “J Watt”, “J.W.” and Figures, by James Watt, United Kingdom, 1756-1773.
These small squares were made by James Watt, and are dated to the period when he was working as an instrument-maker in Glasgow. They are characterful and have been used hard, having figures test-stamped and lines cut into the brass, and the larger of the three has Watt's name engraved into its surface.
