Photographs, album of approximately 105 silver gelatine photographic prints, depicting scenes from the railway career of Gilbert Savill Szlumper, General Manager of the Southern Railway. Features photographs of locomotives, railway engineering, senior staff of the London & South Western and Southern Railways (including his father, Alfred W Szlumper), members of the Railway Executive Committee of 1914, the 1926 General Strike, sports and social events, about 1898 to 1942. Includes photographs of Szlumper’s wife, Mrs Jess Szlumper attending social activities and presenting prizes. The loose leaf album, with green covers, is in fair condition, with some loose cuttings, and measures 345 x 228 x 45mm.
