Copy of a Congreve rolling ball clock, by Thwaites and Reed Ltd (?) and the Master Clock Makers Co., United Kingdom, 1970-1976. The rolling ball clock required less energy to maintain the motion and was less subject to wear, it was originally designed in 1798-1802 and patented by Sir William Congreve in 1808.
