Bracelet, possibly glass, possibly Roman. Glass appears to have been produced as far back as the second millenium BC by the Egyptians and perhaps the Phoenicians. Around the end of the 1st century BC glass-blowing was developed, whereby intricate and symmetrical shapes could be produced. With the backing of the powerful Roman Empire glass-blowing made glass products more accessible to the common people, and as the size of the Roman Empire increased the art of glass-making spread to many countries.
