A Vivex colour photograph of a woman reading a book whilst eating a meal, taken by an unknown photographer in about 1935. Probably taken for advertising purposes, this photograph shows a stuffed mouse climbing up the tablecloth in search of food.

The Vivex process was introduced by Dr Douglas A Spencer (1901-1979) in about 1929. It produced high-quality standardised colour prints from colour-separation negatives.
