Drever and Collins Performance Test of Intelligence: A Series of Non-linguistic Tests for Deaf and Normal Children; devised by James Drever and Mary Collins in 1928 and consisting of Kohs Block Design, Knox Cube Test, Domino Test, Picture Completion Test etc., and used on the University of Aberdeen Experimental Education EdB course, 1949-1950; made in Edinburgh by Andrew H. Baird, c.1928.

James Drever and Mary Collins developed the performance tests in 1928 for use with deaf children. They measured ‘concrete intelligence…a type of intelligence that plays an important part in the practical work of the world.’ There are various tests in this set. These include a Block Design test, Cube Test, Domino Test and two Picture Completion Tests that involve assembling a face and a man from wooden puzzle pieces. These were used on the University of Aberdeen’s Experimental Education course in the mid-20th century.
