
Console unit with 19" Sony Trinitron colour television, Model LV-1901D, Serial No 502423, with integrated Sony Betamax Videocassette recorder (17411), 1978. Television, tape transport, and tuner/clock chassis are fitted in to substantial wheeled wooden console unit. This was the first commercial Betamax video recorder available in the world - available only in the USA and possibly Japan. It would be two more years before Betamax recorders became available in the UK - only as stand-alone 'set top' units.
