Bauer TR100 Retro Sound Super 8 sound projector, 1979. Manufactured by Bauer of Germany.

This was the first of the TR series of daylight projectors with a built in screen designed to look like a video or television screen. Because of the small screen size, films were bright enough to be viewed in normal room illumination, removing the necessity to set up a screen and show films in a darkened room. This was a way of making the viewing of amateur movies more convenient and less disruptive to domestic life (although it made it less of an occasion) and represents a transition phase between traditional amateur movie viewing and amateur video, which was to begin to usurp home movie-making in the 1980s
