Instruction Booklet For Synchrodek
- maker:
- Synchrodek Ltd
Instruction booklet, 'Instructions for Users of Synchrodek', early 1960s.
The Synchrodek allowed amateur film makers to project their sound films. It was connected to an 8mm proejctor and a tape recorder and could be manually adjusted to control the speed of the projector so that picture and sound maintained good synchronisation. The Synchrodek compared the running speed of the projector with that of the tape recorder and any difference between the two could be corrected by moving a slider on the variable resistor which altered the spee dof the projector.
Devised by engineer Harry Garlick, he originally licensed the product to a photographic firm, but later took back the rights and marketed it himself, trading as the Craven Instrument Company.
