Medal. Defence Medal, cupro nickel, awarded to George Roberts for Military service. Obverse: The uncrowned effigy of King George VI; Reverse: Two lions flanking an oak sapling crowned with the conflict dates at the sides and wavy lines representing the sea below. Inscription on exergue: “THE DEFENCE MEDAL”. Original ribbon with two broad bars of green superimposed by narrow black stripes with a wide band of orange in the centre.
