Mains power unit for the BBC OBA/8 microphone amplifier, 1938.
The OBA/8 amplifier was originally developed for radio outside broadcasts in the late 1930s. It was used extensively for both radio and early television outside broadcast, and continued in service well after its successor the OBA/9 was introduced.
