BBC ME1/521 cable length meter, 1983. Measures coaxial cable length & fault distance up to 999.9 ft by pulse reflection.

A battery-powered portable instrument for measuring the approximate length of coaxial cable wound on a drum, for estimating the location of short or open circuit faults in a cable or connecting lead, and for accurately matching the electrical lengths of cable. The meter can also measure the d.c. return path resistance to enable mistermination to be detected, and can generate a distinct pseudo-video test signal to enable ends to be indentified. All measurements are shown on a 4 ½ digit display.
