BBC C/8 amplifier, c.1963. Ex-BBC Bristol component, Bristol number J2171. Full BBC number: C/8/233. Two separate 10dB fixed-gain amplifiers on one panel in a rack mount. Used in BBC control room installations of post-war design, the C/8 amplifier is a 10dB fixed-gain 2-valve unit designed to replace the BBC TV/20 for feeding programme to line. It comprises two independent amplifiying units, built side-by-side on a steel panel suitable for rack mounting.
