Box of assorted NAB carts, ex-BBC Scotland, c.1979. Many still have jingles, etc on them.
NAB cartridges "Carts" were endless 1/4inch audio tape loops of up to 60 minutes duration - although between 30 seconds and 2 minutes was a more common length. The "cart", containing a jingle or trail (or advert in ILR) was placed in a cart machine. Pressing "play" gave instant start.
