Studer A80 Master Audio Tape Recorder (High Speed), 1970-1978. This unit was modified by the BBC to run at high speed (assumed to be 15 & 30 ips) for increased audio quality.

The A80 was already a broadcast-quality machine with a sturdy tape transport mechanism, integrated logic control, electronically controlled tape tension, electronic sensing of tape motion and direction, electronic tape timing, electronic speed control, and plug-in amplifier modules.
