BBC MU/3A Mains Unit, 1938. Full BBC Number: MU/3A/802. Power supply for the OBA/8 amplifier. A metal label on the bottom left of the front panel reads 'suitable for OBA/8 with AC/SP3 or E/885 valves'. The OBA/8 was developed for radio outside broadcasts in the late 1930s. It was used extensively for both radio and early TV OBs and continued in service well after its successor (OBA/9) was introduced.
