Crystal Oven (with crystal)

Quartz crystals are used extensively as frequency standards, however they are susceptible to frequency drift with temperature, so for exacting applications, the crystal is fitted inside a temperature controlled heated "oven". Probably made by the Post Office Experimental and Design Department.
