BBC AM8/14 loudspeaker amplifier, 1976.

First used on the LS3/7 outside broadcast speaker, it was a BBC version of the Quad 303 power amplifier (303A), modified to their AM8/14 specification. The modification consists of a BBC-designed AM1/53 low frequency splitting preamplifier, repurposing the two stereo channels of a Quad 303A to separately feed the LF and HF units in one LS3/7 speaker, a technique to improve sound quality known as 'bi-amping'.
