Pressure Gradient Double (PGD) ribbon microphone No. 5 (also possibly J2008), 1950-60.
The PGD microphones were BBC Research Dept. prototypes. Never put into commercial production, the PGD had a double magnet, making it more sensitive than the PGS microphone (which had a single magnet). The BBC used at least one in Broadcasting House in the 1950s and 1960s. The PGS was later sold under licence by STC as the STC 4038.
