AKG D109 Lavalier Dynamic microphone, c. 1978. Broadcast-quality microphone intended for inconspicuous use in public address, television and motion-picture applications. True lavalier (hung round the neck). Lightweight and reproduced sound clearly and naturally because its response characteristics were specially contoured to overcome the "booming" resonance of the human chest cavity. Hanging collar can be raised over the top of the microphone to compensate for "chesty" sound.
