Attenuator with switched top-cut for the AKG C28 electrostatic

Attenuator with switched top-cut for the AKG C28 electrostatic microphone, c.1961. Inscribed AT2/6/301 (Ser. No. 301).

The level delivered by the internal amplifier from the AKG C28 microphone was found to be too high to mix directly with that from most other types of microphone used at the BBC; hence an attenuator of about 15 dB, designated AT2/6 and provided by the BBC's Equipment Department, was normally fitted in series with the output.
