Tannoy Ribbon Velocity Microphone, 1947. Grey in U-shaped supporting stirrup. The case is a light alloy casting about 5/32" thick.

The BBC Research Department tested this microphone against the Marconi AXB series ribbon microphone in July, 1947 (see Report No. M.007). BBC Engineer H.L. Kirke concluded that "it had nothing but its small size and weight to recommend it".
