EMI CPS Emitron camera head, Studio version.

The camera head houses the image collection section of the camera. Light is focussed by the lens onto the face of the pick up device, the electical signal from here is then amplified to a form which can be distributed to a vision mixer. The tube in this camera head is a cathode potential stabilised Emitron tube. The CPS effect reduced the amout of stray electrons causing false information on the output.
