Drydex HT radio battery, Type H1136. This is a dry battery for use with home radio receivers. Its 23 taps provide a selection of low tension, high tension and grid bias voltages. Dry batteries and accumulators were common before mains electricity was widely available. Batteries continued in use afterwards for portable radio sets, as they still do today.
