Index camera lens from a Corona satellite, made by the ITEK Corporation, United States, 1966-1972.
The Corona program was a series of satellites used by the United States government to take strategic reconnaissance photos during the Cold War. It was in operation between 1960 and 1972, and was the world's first photographic reconnaissance satellite. The Index camera took small scale photographs of areas covered by the main panoramic cameras to help identify the location of the photographs.
