Lithograph, view of the London and Birmingham Railway when in course of construction by J. C. Bourne, published 1839. ‘Canal Bridge, Pitstone Bucks’. Trees and grassy banks dominate the foreground of the right-hand side of the image, whilst the left depicts the canal and beyond this, the bank of the other side with a tow path and trees. Some people can be seen in the background of the image on the left and ridge-hand sides, one with a horse on the tow path the others in a huddle near a derelict brick structure. The canal bridge forms the background of the image, the canal passes underneath the archway of the bridge and behind it some trees are visible.
