Lithograph, view of the London and Birmingham Railway when in course of construction by J. C. Bourne, published 1839. ‘Blisworth Cutting’. Large boulders fill the right side of the foreground on top of the ‘cliff’ created by the cutting. Two men in conversation sit on a boulder in the middle ground on the right side, near them a woman and a child approach the edge of the cliff looking down into the ravine. The left side of the image depicts the other side of the cutting and between the two sides runs a railway track. In the background, a bridge/ aqueduct is shown connecting the two sides and a train passed underneath the middle archway.
