The Sony PlayStation 3 was marketed as not just a games console, but also a home entertainment device. It was the first games console to include a Blu-Ray player as standard, and it enabled users to stream television shows and films. The PlayStation 3 was first launched in Japan in 2006, but following manufacturing problems the European release was delayed until March 2007.
