Roberts Radio was founded in 1932, and quickly became a well respected manufacturer of domestic radio equipment. Digital radio services were first introduced in Britain in the 1990s, however take up of digital radio was very slow, especially when contrasted with the rapid take up of digital television. This ‘Classic 2000’ was a high-quality digital radio receiver. It first went on sale in 2001.
