'Our World', broadcast on 25 June 1967, was the first television programme to be broadcast live around the world. This was made possible by the use of three geostationary telecommunications satellites. It included live contributions from fourteen countries, and included sections on art, sport, and music, which featured a live performance from The Beatles. The 2.5 hour broadcast was watched by an estimated 400 million people worldwide. These technical notes were issued to all those who needed them to play their part in the broadcast. This copy belonged to the Chief Assistant of Science Features for BBC TV, and was updated during the final preparations.
